ResourceCamp draft letter
From Critical Practice Chelsea
Critical Practice Chelsea College of Art and Design 16 John Islip Street London SW1P 4JU
Dear *****************
I’m writing to you on behalf of the research cluster, ‘Critical Practice,’ a collaboration of artists, researchers, academics and others, based at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London.
On the weekend of 29-30th March this year we will be holding a ResourceCamp as part of Disclosures, a programme of events in London, which seeks to scrutinise the notion of openness across fields of cultural production. ResourceCamp is convened as a participant-only event to address the difficulties self-organising groups experience in managing finances, funding and time. The debate is open to experts and amateurs of different persuasions to share their knowledge and experience of this problematic but sometimes necessary process.
We wondered if you would care to participate in this 'unconference' and share your considerable expertise by making a short presentation (roughly ten minutes of speaker contribution followed by ten minutes of group discussion). By making and listening to presentations, and reflecting on how they interrelate, we hope ResourceCamp participants will together map some of the key issues and develop guidelines for budget management in open organisations like Critical Practice.
I very much hope you can take part. Please don’t hesitate to call if you need further information.
Best wishes ***************** (add phone number?) On behalf of Critical Practice
