Minutes
DATE Monday 28th November 2011
LOCATION Room A002, Reception Meeting Room, CSM Kings Cross 5-7.30pm
THOSE PRESENT: Neil, Scott, Karem, Sharon, Kuba, Cinzia, Charlotte
APOLOGIES:Metod, Marsha,
Item 1: LION TV PROPOSAL
To discuss: THE DRAFT LION TV PROPOSAL
Neil had worked on and printed off the draft proposal. The deadline is on Thursday 1st December at midday. We decide to continue to edit the draft on the wiki and set a cut off point of 9pm on Tuesday 29th November.
Action: ALL TO EDIT DRAFT ON WIKI. SHARON TO EMAIL PROPOSAL TO LION TV.
Item 2; MATADERO
To discuss: MATADERO'S REQUEST TO USE HUNTORAMA PROPOSAL
We discuss the email sent by Matadero regarding El Ranchito presenting HUNTORAMA as a project proposal that came out of CP's residency and the documentation of the workshops given during the residency.
Those present decide that as the Hunt proposal came from the residency at El Ranchito, we can see no reason for them not to use the proposal in an exhibition/presentation.
Action: NEIL TO EMAIL MATADERO.
Item 3; BERLIN
To discuss: THE LATEST FROM BERLIN
Kuba filled us in on the latest from Berlin which is basically no news since his meeting with AZ. We discuss what to do and decide that there isn't much we can do except maybe email a prompt to ask them where they are at. Kuba said that during the meeting, AZ seemed engaged with our proposal and the possibilities but that he himself has very limited access and flexibility to the structure of the BB so he isn't sure what we could do. Maybe there is a possibility that we could do something for just one day? The group decide that we have to wait to hear from them before we start making proposals about one day actions.
Action:NO ACTION
Item 4: MICROSILLIONS
To discuss: THE MICROSILLIONS SYMPOSIUM
Cinzia said that she had bumped into the representatives from Microsillions and they said that they are still hoping to get funds for the symposium in Luzern next year. Watch out for more news.
Action: NO ACTION
Item 4: WHERE TO GO NEXT
To discuss: WHERE IS CP TO GO NEXT YEAR?
The group discussed the possibility of us creating an opportunity to re-purpose one of our 'tool's rather than keep looking for open calls and writing proposals. Parade is a popular choice. We could think about new themes to build a similar event around. It wouldn't be about re-creating Parade, more about learning from what happened and taking things forward in a new place and new directions.
We discuss Media Squares in Amsterdam.
Things to think about include:
- Spaces. What makes a square in Cairo different to one in Italy or London? The Parade Ground at Chelsea is a particular space in a particular environment.
- Geographic locations. Where would we like to do it?
- Themes
Kuba mentions funding that might be available in Warsaw. There is one for International co-operations. We could apply.
There is much enthusiasm to focus on a long term project. Short projects are interesting and engaging but there are many rewards to be gained from working slowly on something that would build up.
Action: ALL TO THINK ABOUT THIS AND MAYBE DISCUSS MORE AT THE CHRISTMAS PARTY OR IN THE NEW YEAR.
Item 4: CHRISTMAS PARTY
We look at diaries to finalise a date for the Christmas party. Many can't make the 8th December. The 15th December gets the majority vote. Karem generously said that there is a possibility that he could host the party at his place. He will let us know.
