This is an emergent manual.........

1. Our constantly reviewed Aims and Objectives

All of what Critical Practice does is checked against our founding documents, our Aims and Objectives

2. Our guidelines for organization

We are endeavour to be sensitive to governance. Governance emerges whenever there is a deliberate organization of interactions between people. We are striving to be a 'self instituting' and 'open' organization, and to make all decisions, processes and production, open and public.

To do this, we use the Organization guidelines within Critical Practice. These are very simple and pragmatic, and they enable us to get stuff done

Principally this means we have three key components:

  • Properties - by which we mean values, which our aims and objectives
  • Working Groups - discrete groups working upon defined processes to nurture those values. For example budget management
  • Functional Elements - groups working on defined project or aims within the organization

Within each Working Group, or Functional Element decisions are made by rough consensus. This takes place whilst processes and projects are being worked on and carried out. Processes and projects are adjusted, adapted, expanded and contracted by rough consensus, but they are not interrupted or stopped by decision making about them, they are always ongoing. Silence means assent.

We evolved these key components at these workshops:

Here are our current Working Groups and Functional Elements

3. How to edit the Critical Practice wiki

As part of our practice of being an Open Organization we endeavor to make all decisions, processes and production, open and public.
To this end, we try and post everything on the wiki.

4. Budget Guidelines
